{"id":20364,"date":"2025-01-20T15:45:18","date_gmt":"2025-01-20T14:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ismett.edu\/?p=20364"},"modified":"2026-07-07T14:32:21","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T12:32:21","slug":"azienda-zero-and-ismett-upmc-join-forces-to-enhance-expertise-of-healthcare-professionals-in-calabrias-regional-health-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ismett.edu\/en\/news\/azienda-zero-and-ismett-upmc-join-forces-to-enhance-expertise-of-healthcare-professionals-in-calabrias-regional-health-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Azienda Zero and ISMETT-UPMC join forces to enhance expertise of healthcare professionals in Calabria\u2019s regional health system."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0<strong>Enhancing the expertise of professionals in Calabria\u2019s regional health system managing patients requiring a transplant is the primary goal of the agreement signed today<\/strong> by Gandolfo Miserendino, Director General of the Azienda per il Governo della Sanit\u00e0 della Regione Calabria, and Angelo Luca, Director of IRCCS ISMETT-UPMC and CEO of UPMC Italy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the agreement is to establish a collaboration focused on specialized training of doctors and healthcare professionals in the Calabria region, involved in the care of ISMETT-UPMC patients, particularly those suffering from end-stage organ failure or transplant candidates.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The training will involve their participation as observers of the management of patient care at ISMETT-UPMC, and their attendance at training events and opportunities for discussions with doctors to address the needs of patients from Calabria during pre-transplant evaluation and follow-up.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the planned training activities, the agreement will allow Calabria professionals to consult with ISMETT-UPMC doctors both during the pre- and post-hospitalization phases; this will enable patients who undergo procedures at ISMETT-UPMC to access follow-up visits at healthcare facilities in Calabria without having to leave their region.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reference persons for the three-year agreement will be Domenico Minniti, Medical Director of Azienda Zero and, for ISMETT-UPMC, Cinzia Di Benedetto, Director of Health Care Activities, and Antonio Arcadipane, Clinical Director.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Collaborative initiatives between healthcare organizations, aimed at improving the training of doctors and clinical professionals in Calabria, such as this with ISMETT-UPMC, are always an excellent way to enhance the quality of care that the Regional Health Service must provide to its citizens,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Gandolfo Miserendino<\/strong>, Director General of Azienda Zero &#8220;I am very pleased for this agreement and I would like to thank ISMETT-UPMC and the Region of Sicily for this opportunity, which will allow us to provide more effective solutions for Calabria patients in need of a transplant.&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;This agreement is a crucial step in improving the care of transplant recipients, offering medical staff the opportunity to acquire advanced skills for more effective pre- and post-transplant management.
