Antonio Galante

Antonio Galante is Chief of the Hepatology Unit at IRCCS ISMETT. Dr Galante is originally from Reggio Calabria; he graduated in Messina in 2008 and specialized in Internal Medicine in Hamburg at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in 2016. He then collaborated with the UKE Department of Gastroenterology, mainly with the Hepatology Service.

Over the last four years, he has held the position of Clinical Head of Hepatology at the Gastroenterology Service of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale of Lugano, Switzerland, where he was also Clinical Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine of the Università della Svizzera Italiana. He also worked in Canada, at the Toronto General Hospital, where he completed his fellowship in Transplant Hepatology.

Author of numerous scientific publications, he is a member of various scientific associations including EASL (European Association for the Study of the Liver), AASLD (American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases), AISF (Associazione Italiana Studio del Fegato), and ILTS (International Liver Transplant Society).

His main fields of clinical and scientific interest are transplant hepatology and, more recently, the application of artificial intelligence systems in hepatology. Dr. Galante is a member of the Vanguard committee of ILTS, which actively promotes global growth opportunities and collaboration of young doctors and researchers in the field of liver transplantation.
