The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care operates according to the guidelines of leading scientific societies, and promotes continuing education, and medical and non-medical staff training.

Anesthesia Unit: Gaetano Burgio
The Unit operates to optimize the pre-, intra, and post-operative process for elective or emergency surgeries. It participates in all invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Intensive Care Unit: Giovanna Panarello
The ICU has 20 beds for stabilization and care of critical patients requiring vital sign pharmacological and instrumental support.

Acute Pain Service (APS)
This service manages the patients’ acute pain and postoperative pain therapy.
