Dr. Girgenti is Director of the Clinical Psychology Service at ISMETT.
He graduated with a degree in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Palermo, and completed his postgraduate specialization at Istituto Tolman, Palermo, with honors. He is enrolled in the psychology register of the region of Sicily.
He has been working at ISMETT since 2001, and has actively collaborated on the creation of the Clinical Psychology Service. Since 2012 he has been Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. As a speaker he has participated in about 100 national and regional conferences, and authored several studies on the clinical psychology of transplantation.
In addition to the numerous refresher courses, he has an educational background composed of several Master’s degrees:
- Master’s degree in group psychodynamics
- Master’s degree in psycho-oncology
- Master’s degree as a Mindfulness instructor
- Master’s degree in relaxation techniques
