VATS lobectomy

VATS lobectomy is the standard approach to perform pulmonary lobectomy for malignant and benign lung diseases.
Through tiny incisions in the chest, a procedure that is identical or better than traditional surgery can be performed. The advantages of a VATS lobectomy include reduced hospital stay, less post-operative pain, and better aesthetic outcomes.

The post-operative course meets the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery) criteria, with the goal of a rapid, safe, and protective hospital discharge.

Thoracic surgery at ISMETT is one of the programs of reference for VATS lobectomy in Italy, and actively participates in research, study, and scientific coordination initiatives.
