Clinical, surgical, and diagnostic activities at IRCCS ISMETT are supported by the Anesthesia, Perioperative Medicine, and Intensive Care services, ensuring continuity of care, emergency preparedness, and patient comfort throughout every stage of care.

The anesthesiology approach integrates general and regional anesthesia techniques with the goal of optimizing pain control and promoting faster postoperative recovery. Clinical safety is enhanced by the presence of a Medical Emergency Team for prompt management of in-hospital emergencies and using state-of-the-art invasive and non-invasive monitoring systems throughout the hospital.

All clinical programs also incorporate Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, developed through close collaboration between surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and physiotherapists to accelerate postoperative recovery, reduce length of stay, and improve patient comfort.
