At IRCCS ISMETT, diagnosis and, if required, treatmentare offered through the Italian National Health Service (NHS) to patients with the following conditions:

• End-stage organ failure eligible for adult or pediatric transplantation (lung, heart, liver, and kidney).
• Solid organ cancer (lung, liver and biliary tract, pancreas) requiring adult or pediatric major surgery.
• Complex conditions requiring highly specialized cardiac, abdominal, thoracic, and pediatric surgery.
• Medical conditions requiring advanced cardiac, radiology, and endoscopy interventional surgery.
• Pediatric , liver, biliary, and pancreatic diseases, including rare, metabolic, nutritional, infectious, congenital, and autoimmune liver disorders.

To know if your condition can be treated at IRCCS ISMETT, email the following documentation to primevisite@ismett.edu:

• Medical documentation related to your condition (medical and imaging reports, and lab tests).
• Referral for a specialist consult issued through Italy’s NHS (please specify the relevant medical specialty).
• Your telephone contact details.

IRCCS ISMETT is dedicated to the care of adult and pediatric patients suffering from complex diseases that affect vital organs.

The treatment of end-stage organ failure has significantly advanced thanks to new transplant programs that offer life-saving therapeutic options for conditions that would otherwise be irreversible.

However, transplant is not the only available option for end-stage organ failure. IRCCS ISMETT also supports patients who do not require a transplant, but suffer serious diseases that can lead to organ failure and that require surgical care.

IRCCS ISMETT offers all solid organ transplantation programs, including: heart, liver, pancreas, lung, and kidney transplantation. For kidney and liver transplantation, a living donor program is also available.

IRCCS ISMETT also has a dedicated pediatric transplantation program. At our Institute, children can undergo liver, kidney, and lung transplantation from both deceased donors and, in the case of kidney and liver transplantation, living donors.
