Dott.ssa Buscemi Barbara
Dr. Barbara Buscemi is Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at IRCCS ISMETT.
A transplant nephrology specialist, Dr. Buscemi earned her degree in Medicine and Surgery and completed her training in Nephrology at the University of Palermo. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and Organizational Management of Kidney Transplantation from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome.
She previously served as nephrologist at the Sicilian Regional Transplant Center and staff physician at “Leonardo Sciascia” Transplant Center of ARNAS Civico in Palermo. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in kidney transplantation and combined organ transplantation, including kidney-pancreas, liver-kidney, and heart-kidney transplants.
Dr. Buscemi has authored numerous scientific publications and contributed to the development of Italian national guidelines in the field of transplantation. She remains actively engaged in clinical care and research, as well as in advancing best practices in transplant nephrology.
