Head of Unit
Digestive Endoscopy
The Digestive Endoscopy Unit is recognized as a center of excellence and advanced research in the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and biliary tract.
The Unit performs highly complex diagnostic and interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures, with particular expertise in interventional pancreatic endoscopy.
The Unit provides daily support to the abdominal surgery, hepatology, medical oncology, and transplant programs, performing essential procedures for cancer staging, the management of biliary complications, and the minimally invasive treatment of strictures, bleeding, and obstructions.
The Unit has long been accredited by the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED) and is distinguished by its use of innovative technologies, including augmented and immersive reality in pancreatobiliary endoscopy.
IRCCS ISMETT also organizes training courses and live broadcasts from its endoscopy suites.
